Tips on eco-friendly usage: Dishwasher

Food residue

Dispose of leftover food along with household waste.

Don’t pre-rinse

Don’t pre-rinse dishes by hand.

Stack items correctly

Stack your dishes so that all surfaces can be cleaned by the water jets.

Load

Load your dishwasher as fully as possible, minimising contact between items.

Additional products

Use detergent, rinse aid and dishwasher salt together or as a combined product in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Intensive programmes

Only use an intensive programme for very dirty dishes. This uses a lot more energy and water than standard programmes, which are suitable for normal situations.

Energy-saving programme

Whenever possible, use the energy-saving programme. It takes longer but uses a lot less energy and water. Run the dishwasher overnight, when time is not an issue.

Energy saving

Use the energy-saving function. The washing temperature is reduced by 5 °C and energy consumption is reduced by around 10 %. The programme duration is slightly shorter. The energy-saving mode is also gentler on glasses.

Delayed start

Use the delayed start function. This allows you to run the dishwasher in off-peak hours (e.g. with a low energy tariff). You can set the start time between 30 minutes and 24 hours ahead.
